News: Some Good. Some Bad..
Food News Leftovers
Good News: Credited with sparking Boulder City’s Downtown redevelopment, the shuttered Milo’s Cellar is headed for a much-needed rebirth as Nora’s Lakeside. According to the Boulder City Review, the new concept from the Mauro family is to open later this year. Expect fresh life in the longtime neighborhood location!
Bad News: This one stings a bit for the fine-dining crowd. The Strip’s luxe French Mediterranean LPM Restaurant & Bar at The Cosmopolitan is preparing to close. This continues the resort’s slow post-MGM takeover evolution, so if LPM has been on your “special occasion” list, consider this your nudge.
Two decades in and still pouring it on! Red Rock Resort is marking its 20th anniversary with Taste of Station on April 18. This unlimited food and drink poolside event will feature bites from 24 dining venues across Station’s portfolio. These locals-heavy celebrations are usually sleeper hits, so dress to nosh, cheers and mingle!
The Summerlin-adjacent Boca Park continues to quietly reshuffle, as another longtime favorite closes. Ciao Vino — once named among Las Vegas’ Top 100 restaurants — built a loyal following for its cozy energy and wine-forward Italian focus. R.I.P. … but as closed restaurants usually turn into new restaurants, what’s next is always on our mind. 🙏

Spilling the Tea
A new brunch is landing in the Arts District this May… and let’s just say, if you’ve been craving something thoughtful, seasonal, and very chef-driven, you’re going to want to keep your weekends open. ⬆️
A Commercial Center 🥩🏠 inches toward opening… Remember the new meat palace from an Arts District bar owner that’s been “Coming soon!” forever? Well, it might actually be happening. While “soon” is always relative, signs point to real progress. We’ll believe it when we’re holding a 🍸 and noshing a 🥩 at the bar…
A “bizarre” new Arts District bar, aiming for a mid-March Main St. debut, is taking recycling to another level by sourcing from other bar and restaurant closures. They’ve scooped up stuff from the recently shuttered Berlin and Metro Pizza. Eclectic? Definitely. Sustainable? Arguably. Arts District-y? Oh, yes.

Pet Peeve of the Week
Your menu spotlights your pancakes as gourmet and world famous, taking a couple days process to make. And then you serve them with fake maple syrup bought by the gallon whose top three ingredients are high fructose corn syrup, corn syrup, and water. That’s like driving a Bentley with seats made from Corinthian Leather. At the very least, offer an up-charge for real actual maple syrup. –Donny T
